New clutch sitting vs riding right away.

So this evening I took my clutch apart and found its burnt out completely. I plan to order a new clutch kit and soak the plates over night, then install.

Question 1:

Is it OK to install the new clutch kit if I don't plan to ride the bike right away? I cant see it being riding weather for my comfort level for a few more weeks at least. Should I wait to install the clutch right before I take it riding, Or can I do it now in my spare time and just let the bike sit for a few weeks.

Question 2:

Is there a soak in time period that is too long, If I let the clutch plates sit and soak for several days, Will it do them any harm? I know when they are in the bike they are obviously sitting in oil, But they are not completely submerged. Only an inch or so up.

Sorry for noob questions but its my first time doing a clutch since my dirtbike as a kid...many years ago

Re: New clutch sitting vs riding right away.

I have done a clutch mid winter and had no issues.

No you can't soak them to long but over night works out well.
