To use this filter or not.... 2007 1K

I found a filter in my basement behind some junk on a shelf. Still has the end wrapped in plastic, guessing it is at least 3 years old. if not longer. I can't remember if it is from my Bandit 600 or if it was bought for my GSX-R1000
Basement stays in the 60-70o range,

Filter is a Tokyo Roki LFS706 16510-34e00

Clearly not a current Suzuki Part# it's been updated to a new one.

I plan on doing an oil change tomorrow, would you run the filter or just go to the local dealership and buy another filter. Toss this one away.

If it was for my bandit it could be 5-6-7 years old. If it' was for my GSX-R1000 it can't be older then 2007

Has white powder on the gasket but over all looks good.

To use or not to use.......

With the plastic wrap on there, no reason why it shouldn't be fine. I would definately use it. Some of the newer filters have that white residue on the gaskets as well. I think that's some kind of agent to keep the rubber from dry rotting. Had there been specs of rust all over yours, I'd feel slightly different. But, it looks prestine.

Looks fine. Just dab a little fresh oil and rub it onto the oil seal there and throw it on.

What about the part #? Is that what the GSX-R1000s ran before? I remember when I bought the bike the dealership didn't have any filters for 07s and said that they were different from 06 and under filters, now I've noticed the filters for GSX-R1000s fit all 2000-2010 years.

Pretty much every suzuki ever made uses that same oil filter. At the dealer I worked we only had three different filter for every suzuki atv, dirt, street, etc

The last few filters I've bought have been the X07s that's why its weird that I found this 34E00 sitting on my shelf in the basement.

Thats the old part number and was superseded to the x07. Its still good though. I would put it on my race bike.
