Re: Reusable Oil Filter - Anybody use them?
The Scotts is supposedly a rebadged K&P.
Whether it's actually better has been debated here and many other places. (just search google).
Another way to think of it ...
Scott's filter - $80
OEM filter - $10
Assuming you change your oil every 3000 miles (typical street bike interval), then you will have to do at least 8 changes (i.e. 8 x 3000 = 24000 miles) to get a cost savings with the Scott's.
I was looking at the Scott's filter, but decided to just stick with the OEM oil filter - I would rather just take it off, drain it, and toss it than have to deal with cleaning the Scott's.
If I had a race bike ... then I would most likely use the Scott's, because I would definitely change the oil more often.
Sometimes sh** does not work out the way you planned it.
