Change crank bearings without pulling head?

2004 model. I want to know if it's possible to disassemble the bottom end to the point where I can get the crank out without removing the head. It's seems to me that it can be done that way but does anyone know for sure?

Re: Change crank bearings without pulling head?

getting the crank out with the cams in place is difficult i will generally remove the cams but then when you flip the engine over the shims will fall out of place. so you should pull the buckets and shims.

if you just are doing bearings then you can just remove the cct and the bearings will come out easy.
