Sigh, why are you so finicky? C46 code

Well, my bike is at it again. After it feeling perfect with the replacement of the plugs and air filter, it decided it wants more love and attention.
I felt that it was a little soft on a ride yesterday, but thought it was my imagination. Well, I decided to look at it today and there's a magical FI light. Well, after 4 cycles of it not giving me the code, it finally tells me that there is a C46 code.
So I check the operation of the set valve, and it moves just fine when you turn on the ignition. It's a bit noisy, but it cycles. I cycled it around 10 times just to make sure it wasn't intermittently failing. It wasn't. But, the minute you start it up and give it throttle, it does not move.

Sigh.

-c46 is the SET valve code. Check to make sure it is functioning and not sticking closed.

Yes, that's what I was saying. It cycles just fine when it does the ignition on cycle, but it doesn't move when the bike is running.

It could be out of adjustment... Get a copy of the service manual and see what it says.

I already checked the procedure, I just haven't had the time to mess around with it. Then again, I have been wanting a full exhaust.

The adjustment procedure is lengthy. Based on what you've mentioned, the valve may be sticking on its pivots. Suggest that you pull the muffler so that you have access to the valve and apply some high temperature anti-seize to the shaft where it enters the pivot bosses. You'll have to fool around a bit to work it into the pivots. With luck that may solve your problem.

I unscrewed the seat and the gas tank, and it magically started working again. Jesus Christ.

Isn't it uncomfortable & hard to ride it with no seat or gas tank??

I just wore a camel-back with gasoline and clenched my glutes, it worked.
But really, after looking at all the connections I lowered the tank and saw that it cycled correctly, so I started it and it moved just fine with throttle input. I bet I'll put it all back together and it'll stop working again.

Update:
After starting it another countless times to verify it moves properly, I installed the tank and seat bolts. It promptly stopped working on the very next time. God. Dammit.

Also, it did fine the next time. Jesus Christ.
