On my k9 750 im getting a starting fault where sometimes it wont start, just comes up with a check. No FI light. Will turn over but not start. Fuel pump does not prime. Then try it again and the check goes out and the bike starts fine.
Cant be the clutch switch as far as I can see, cant be the side stand switch as that doesnt matter in neutral, turn the stop switch off and it wont turn over so not that.
About to check for a fault code but I thought no FI light means no code.
Open to suggestions on those that know these bikes better? Will go pull every plug apart i can see and clean it out.
Just went into dealer mode. No faults. My TPS is out though.
Sprayed electrical cleaner into the killswitch assembly, pulled apart the plugs under the seat and cleaned them and was going to start under the tank. Tried the key and it goes. Tried it about 100,000 times again and it goes every time. :scratch
I dont believe such an easy fix. But yeah I think you are right. Killswitch was gummed up.
When you put it in dealer mode was it flashing FI on dash and/or did you turn off the engine/ignition before putting it in dealer mode? When you noticed the TPS was out of adjustment was the engine idling and at operating temperature?
You said you put it in dealer mode as well as saying it will show "CHEC" but then if you turn off the ignition and back on it goes away and the bike starts. At any point did FI flash alternating with engine temperature, if not there are no codes to pull.
