Rim for '02?...What will fit?

Hey Bros,

I can't seem to find an answer. I need to replace my front rim; a car cut infront of me and I had to run up the curb so I didn't get hit.

Anyway, I was wondering what front rim will fit on my '02 GSXR-600? I'v seen that 01-03 600 and 750's fi, and that the 1000's fit as well. But I've heard that there are different rims that would fit, such as a Buza?

Anyway, any help or advice you guys could give me would be great.

Re: Rim for '02?...What will fit?

I've done some searching, I read that Hayabusa front rim will fit, TL and TLR will fit, as well as GSXR-600 and 750 will fit. But I need some conformation on this, and I need to findout what years will work as well.

Re: Rim for '02?...What will fit?

these will bolt on, no modification:
01-05 600
00-05 750
01-04 1000

these require different spacing (triple tree width different).
98+ TLR/S/busa
96-99 750
97-00 600

Re: Rim for '02?...What will fit?

if i remember correctly the front rim sould be interchangeable with the 00-03 600 and 750 and 01 to 02 1k. i'm not sure about the TL, but i'd imagine that as long as the years are similiar they'd fit. thats just my best guess though.

Re: Rim for '02?...What will fit?

Since these require different spacing (triple tree width difference):
98+ TLR/S/busa
96-99 750
97-00 600

I would need to use spacers, correct? What would be suitable to use as a spacer? What size spacer should I be using if I use one of the above rims?

Can you get spacers from a dealership or parts store?

And will there be any issues with the caliper aligning with the rotor correctly?

Thanks for all your help guys.

Happy

Re: Rim for '02?...What will fit?

not sure about the spacer bit. i've *heard* you can space it out 2mm or so from the axle mount on the fork leg. not entirely sure on the exact figures. there should be any issues w/ caliper mounting if it's dead center.

your best bet is to get the wheels that you don't need to do jack. it's much less headache and the wheels are actually lighter than the older 1's even the dimensions are the same so no benefit to going to an older rim.

Re: Rim for '02?...What will fit?

Yeah,

Prolly the best idea Stingray. It was that I found a '05 Busa rim for a pretty decent price, whereas the GSXR Front rims are quite pricey, but the extra dough is probably worth not having the headach it might cause trying to fit a differeant rim.

Thanks for your help.
