Re: Making plans for Big Kahuna at Road Atlanta

The Big Kahuna is the Atlanta round of the AMA Superbike Championship on May 16-18 at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA.

FYI - It is no longer called the Big Kahuna so just in case yall are purchasing tickets and looking for info on this event, you wont find it This round of the AMA Superbike Championship is now known as the Suzuki Superbike Showdown.

I will be there for all 3 days, including the Thursday promoter's practice. Im pretty sure gsxr's&ducs, SloDuc and Chris023 will show up at some point (ahem, right guys? )

You know I'm all over this. Is your friend coming? I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Maybe Thursday and Friday too if things work out right.

Lots of people camp out. I personally will be staying in snellville at a friends house. The camping thing takes care of your lodging needs but your all alone on tickets.

They called it Big Kahuna last year right
It must have changed this year.

When the time gets closer we need to make plans to meet up
Brasselton has some good roads not to far away I hear and Atlantas not to far to have a good time after dark

It has always been called the Big Kahuna. Reason being, way back in the 70's I think or 80's, the winner of the AMA Road Atlanta doubleheader was awarded an all expenses paid trip to Hawaii, hence the title Big Kahuna. They no longer give that price but the doubleheader winner is still named the Big Kahuna.

They changed it this year because RPM, the original promoter of the event no longer promotes it and they owned the trademark for "Big Kahuna" term or some BS like that. Suzuki is a major sponsor for this event, hence the Suzuki Superbike Showdown.
