Re: 1/4 mile times
here is my 1/4 slip from the first time I raced my '06 600. Before anyone says "Wow, what a crappy time...", this was my first time ever racing a bike at the 1/4 mile. I had raced cars many times, but first time on a bike (it really is a totally different beast). Also, yes I was racing a busa, yes I won, yes the guy had no clue how to ride his bike (if he had, he should have easily beaten me on a 600 and my first time at the drag strip with it).
So with me sitting at a mid 11 with no clue what I was doing on the thing, I should be able to get it down into the 10's fairly easily. All of my mods are listed in my signature (yes, I know I should be much faster than I am, I am still learning).
Code:

Re: 1/4 mile times
i used to take my K5 750 down all the time (only mods were K&N filter ,yoshie bolt on titanium TRS and PC3 dyno'd at 132 rwhp) and not strapped or anything and my best was a 10.76* for the 1/4
my K7 750 i have only taken down once (only mods BMC filter,Full micron GP system,PC3, dyno'd at 136 rwhp) not strapped or anything ,rear tyre pressure 40psi cold and no burnouts to warm tyres
did 21 runs in one night worst being 10.978 and the best being 10.576
got a shit load in the 10.6's

Re: 1/4 mile times
the RPM you launch at all depends on how much you weigh, what is done to the bike, track conditions, weather and the price of tea in china... Instead of telling you a magic RPM to launch at (I would just be blowing smoke up your ass if I did), I will tell you to try different things until you find something that works for you... Work on getting your 60' times down into the 1.7 range and you will be launching pretty well.
but if you would prefer the smoke blowing and just want a number... 8496

Re: 1/4 mile times
I've had by 97 750 out at the track a few times... I've made about 25 passes or so total... At New York International I ran a best of 10.92 @ 128 and managed to pull a 133mph on a pass (spun through first)... Now I live in California and I've been running at Fontana with a best of 11.23 at 126. Elevation and grade make a pretty significant difference. Check out a couple of videos of my uncle and I racing...

air shifter, powercommander, -2 in the front, 812 big kit w/ 750 block and head all done by rc performance and that is w/o the nitrous i have a big shot on the bike but havent used it yet...my best on all motor is 6.132 in the 1/8...the motor is build for nitrous it could go faster on the motor if we change some things put but then it would work as well on the juice...we lowered the compression and everything on the bike...and i use a yosh exhaust.

Re: 1/4 mile times
what you got done to that thing? thats pretty good numbers on the back in, considering your 60 was shitty...( sorry not try to be mean or ne thing) by the way, no one has said it, but you should be mid to high 60's on your 60 (quicker with lots of experiance) so thats what you should shoot for. and remember that if you front is in the air at the beam then its gonna read the back wheel.
i feel you on the rules, the track here wont let us run through the 1/4 without full leathers now. so basically this racing season cost all the little guys and extra grand.

Re: 1/4 mile times
I took my k7 600 yesterday and my best was 11.1@126 with a 1.9 60 ft. and my second best was 11.2 @127 with a 2.0 60ft. My traps were 1mph higher after I folded the mirrors back!! I averaged 11.3 the whole day. My first launch was my best and I couldn't figure out how to do it again!

Try this tethered kill it's $65 at Schnitz easy to install about 10 min and looks good and works better.

also, i heard alot of the k5 1000 guys burning out their slipper clutches (atleast locally, about 5 different guys i talked to). im guessing the k6 600/750's may have the same problem? im not into drag racing, and she definately wont be a drag bike, but i would like to get it out there just to see where she stands.

I have a k5 600 and 7. For the 1/8th, their both exactly the same setup other than gearing. If i was stock wheelbase i would say that the 6 would be easier. Being stretched, other than my e.t.s i cant tell a difference between the two.So dont think theirs a big handicap. As ive been learning SEAT TIME.
