Ivans TRE 007

i was told the smart 007 does all the same stuff as a regular TRE but it retains the gear indicator on 05-06 1000. anyone have any real info on this, i tried searches and the Ivans web site but i didn't see anything about the gear indicator.

Nope, smart just means it preserves the neutral gear to make for a more smooth idle. Can't preserve the gear indicator if the point of the TRE is to tell the ECU it's in 5th all the time.

JSD-3 is the exact same thing.... for $44.95 -vs- $110 for his..

As with **any** TRE type device you will lose your gear display... its just the way the ECU does things.

thanks guys, i thought that sounded wrong but i wanted to make sure. i told the guy at the store that i didn't think you could use the gear indicator but he was positive you could.
