Polished or not Polished ???

Tell me what you guys (and girls) think about polished rims and frame/swing arm.

I think it looks really slick, but is it squidly to do? I'm just thinking about some ideas I want to do with the bike I'm going to get in a couple years.

Does the polished look on rims look better than the white rims on the 01 GSX-R 600/750?

Re: Polished or not Polished ???

If you like it, do it. And yes, its a squidly thing to do.

So people actually CARE if they're labeled as squids? Hmm. Doesn't seem like it. You'd think they'd change their ways if they knew they were so looked down upon.

Do it if you want, I find it more squidly that you're asking for our approval...

Re: Polished or not Polished ???

I like a nice polished aluminum piece but not a super chrome polish. A nice shine always loook nice though. Just dont over do it.

Re: Polished or not Polished ???

I've never seen a Gix with just polished lips on white rims. I like the brushed look of the frame as aopposed to painted frames. One of the reasons I went with a '02.

Re: Polished or not Polished ???

If you like having to shine up the polished parts every time the weather has been less than perfect, go ahead. You also have unprotected aluminium that will corrode if you don't take care of it regularly. Personally I'd rather spend all that time riding...

I have to agree with SVS here...I bought my '00 R6 with a polished frame...When I bought it I did not know much about Sportbikes, or streetbike at all for that matter...I'll tell you now that it is a chore to keep the frame polished now, especially sinse I store it outside (with a cover)...if you have a garage I'm sure you will not have to keep it polished as often as I do...sure it looks good, but damn I'd rather be riding than polishing...or sittin at the computer drinkin rather than polishing after a ride...

I'll deffinitely NOT go with polish or chrome when I get my K6 GSX-R 1K this coming Mar...
