Re: shots fired!!!

How does the exit look on the exhaust can opening? What color is it (white, gray, black)? Backfiring is usually an indicator that you are running rich.

Re: shots fired!!!

btw, that's an afterfire. as spl said, prolly running rich, but not necessarily. even GP bikes afterfire like hell, and i'm pretty sure they have their FI mapped to specs...

He does have a point. Alot of guys would kill for that. I say you sell the bike to a squid and tell him you got it specially modded to do that, he'll think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread meets Fast and the Furious.

Re: shots fired!!!

It is because the GSXR's use an air injection pump to dillute the exhaust for emisions. But pumping fresh air into the exhaust makes any unburned fuel ignite, causing a backfire. Get a set of block off plates .

Re: shots fired!!!

stall... with the exception of the california models, gixxers do not have an air injection system. the link that you supplied are for busa's anyways. oh and as far as fixing the prob.... there's nothing you can do about it really, except to leaning out the mix in a PC a hair. even that won't stop it all together.

Yes you do. It is the PAIR system.

The added air is what is causing the back fires.
