Cheap Appearance mod for Yosh Exhausts (how to)

Materials:
Your Yoshimura mounting bracket, Red Scotchbrite or steel wool, Rustoleum Epoxy Appliance paint (black), some frosted clear scotch tape (ordinary office kind), Xacto knife or other sharp hobby knife.

Step 1 Scuff the exhaust bracket with the scotchbrite or steel wool paying particular attention to the small engraved logo on the top side. Strive to get a nice brushed finish on it.

Step 2 Lay a piece of the clear tape over the logo, then trim around it with a sharp x-acto knife, which is quite easy as you have the engraved lines to follow. The peel off the outer tape leaving the logo covered.

Step 3 . Make a paint hook from a wire coat hanger and spray the black epoxy paint on in several light coats. Due to the epoxy component, this paint takes several hours to dry - don't rush it!

Step 4. AFTER the paint is dry, trace around the logo again with the hobby knife to ensure a clean line, then remove the tape. Mount it up and admire the custom look.

Obviously looks best with Carbon cans.

i know the lettering on the logo is silver, but painting the letters red first, then taping over them and then painting the rest black would be good looking and unique.

I say it needs black rubber and then black rivets and the metal binding around the ends of the can too.

looks good. think I will stay with the polished look since I am rockin' a chrome pipe. But that is definately worth the time if you have a darker pipe

I don't think they sell it in black. I do believe that the hanger is a standard piece for all units.
