BATTERY

How long does the typical battery last in a bike? I am having a problem with my battery, it wont hold a charge very long. Over the winter I keep it on the battery tender. I have had my bike for two years.

Re: BATTERY

Sorry to hear that mate, i recently had a problem with my battery. It went flat within 24 hours....

Took it to get fixed and turns out it was earthing out, so it drained the battery everytime. They had to re-wire most of the bike to find where it was shorting!

Good luck with it though!

Re: BATTERY

Two years seems awfully short. I know there have been problems with the regulator/rectifier and stator on some bikes. Might want to start by testing those.

Re: BATTERY

Disconnect the battery & charge it overnight. It should read at least 12.6 volts. Let it set
overnight recheck the voltage It should not have dropped more than 2/10 s of a volt any more and the battery is bad.
OR charge it at home & take it to autozone and have them test it DO NOT LET autozone
charge your motorcycle battery unless it is an emergency

Re: BATTERY

Crush an aspirin(like Bayer) up and pull the caps off and dump a little bit in each hole, then trickle charge it.
