how do you know if your stator is bad?

99 gsxr srad 750. battery dying. charged battery up and rode for days. then battery died again. Bought new battery. Rode for a week and some days now bike turns over slow. Dosnt want to start. just click, click. Headlights seem to still be bright, What would you guys say about it?

have you checked the wires to the rectifier(sp??) rear subframe..left side...checked the wires..make sure they are not burnt up

I will check today. How far back should I check. from rectifier to clipon or clip on all way back? witch part usually burns out. I have another rectifier

you will see it it will be burned up just cut it and butt connect it

just don't cut and but connections feel to make sure the wire didn't hardend up too much up the wire and if it did cut wire all the way to where it gets soft again then do like the post above. You will find the burned up wires right at the connector as it is the weakest link in the system

What the hell is this!?!? There are wires here I have never seen before. Race retarder race only connector and some rockford speaker amp wire. I was going to check the connection to the rectifier and this is all I see. Do any of you know what all this is

I got it. After I checked the wires I seen that the main fuse cover was off and the rectifier wires were laying on the outside of the subframe on top of the positive and negatives. The wires were burnt up. I cut the wires out where they were burned and put them back on and the bike has been running great. Thanks guys!
