The gixxer forum might not be the right place for this, but I post here because I normally drive gixxer, on on the road and another one when racing. Anyway, this happpend one evening a couple of weeks ago when me and my friends was on our way home frome practice at the circuit. I was in a bit of a hurry to catch the ferry to my home and I had my van with the race motorcycle. So to make it I borrowed my friend Honda Blackbird instead. Just whne I thought I would make it in time it happened, a roe deer jumped up on the road in fron of me. I did'nt even have the time to start thinking about braking. And the speed was NOT slow.... Fortunately I passed stright true the animal and was still on my wheels, but the motocycle substained a lot of damage. All plastic, the cooler and front forks bent...
Yes, that could have been much worse. Great luck and talent that you did not go down. The deer that we have around here (white-tailed), which are terribly thick and cause lots of accidents, are much bigger than your roe. Probably from 70-120 kg. Striking one is a big concern for me while riding.

Here in Scandinavia the roe deer is the most common but there are other, bigger species here, although more rare. The biggest ones here in Denmark are the crown deer which is pretty similar to the whitetails - the other Scandinavian countries have rein and moose as well...
Anyway, I know a guy who hit a big ass male crown deer riding at about 50mph. He got off relatively easy because of gear but both the bike (early 80's BMW R65G/S) and the deer were totalled... He has gone by the name "Deer Hunter" since...
If you were in Alaska and hit one those big ass misquitos, you would have had the same effect.
Glad it was just motorcycle damage and non to you
Sucks to buy parts but, it's always better then recovery time.
I did'nt have my camera with me so I had already cleaned away the pieces that i'd found when my friend came with the camera.
It would have been an idea to eat it, but I did'nt find any pieces that was god enough to save. But let's hope it'll not happend again! Run safely! (but fast!)
