02 750 headlights won't come on, help

My 750 lights all of a sudden will not come on. Noticed it after a ride today. Even the high beam indicator won't light up. Fuses are good and are the bulbs.

Any ideas before i start tearing into it?

on the right side of the bike there is a black harness plug with loops on it. Open that and clean the terminals and put di electrical grease.

horn, blinkers still work from the left pod controles. I think the pod connection is secure.

Cant figure why even my high beam indicator won't light.

Im having the same problem, all of a sudden the headlights dont work at all. not any fuses, not the bulbs, i took apart the connector and cleaned it and it still wont light up. I even pulled the wire out that controls the lighting circuit and connected it seperatly (bypassed it), still wont light up the lights. is there a relay that controls the headlights and if so where is it located? and what is the part number? Im thinking that if there is a relay, that the relay that it might be bad.

nevermind i was cleaning the wrong connector. had to bypass the loop all together, b/c the connector was melted on that one pin everything works fine now. Thanks for the help.

You lucked out. The hi/lo switch on mine was corroded and I had to take the housing completely apart and re-solder the factory connections. Same bike. Seems the light problems are very common but that's it.

same problem happend on my 03, i hooked a wire and bypassed the harness. Now from time to time the lights still turn on and off.

got my service appt made for this problem, it stopped workin on my ride sunday

was told mine was corrosion in the throttle side, dont understand that, but oh well it works now
