2000 model year GSX-R750 Transmission Problems? : Suzuki GSX-R Motorcycle Forums: Gixxer.com

Does anyone have any input about the 2000 model gixxer 750 transmission problems? I have a 2001 Canadian GSX-R750 and am trying to find out if my bike has the hollow or solid input or output shaft that supposedly has caused some problems on these bikes.

Likely has the hollow if it has not been changed. Good idea to eventually upgrade if you are having problems already starting.

Just pop open the clutch cover and that will allow you to see if its hollow or not. The shaft is the shifter lever rod the rear set clamps too. The part is only 12-20 bucks and the cost of a new clutch cover gasket.

2000 gsxr 750's, and Early 2001's had bad trannies

I guess you live in Tampa, what is there to do as far as racing and trackdays in your area? I am thinking of moving there.
