New 2014 GSXR 1000 LE!!

Suzuki Introduces Exclusive 2014 GSX-R1000 SE Limited Production
*
BREA, Calif. – The Suzuki GSX-R1000 has always been an accessible sportbike; whether your desire is to win superbike races or to carve up your favorite road, the GSX-R1000 has been ready for all enthusiasts who desire its class-leading performance. In honor of its 50th Anniversary in America, Suzuki introduces the exclusive, limited-production Suzuki GSX-R1000 SE – with a total of just 50 numbered motorcycles to be sold through Suzuki dealers in America.
*
During its 50th Anniversary Celebration, held at the Suzuki Fan Paddock during the Indy MotoGP weekend, Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (SMAI) announces the limited-production GSX-R1000 SE, a sportbike with many custom-designed features found on no other GSX-R sportbikes. A total worldwide production of 100 models means the 2014 GSX-R1000 SE is a highly exclusive motorcycle.
*
Built around the Suzuki GSX-R1000 that has won more AMA Superbike Championships than any other motorcycle in the class, this SE model adds singular style that is most evident in the polished and chrome-plated frame, plus the machined and polished chrome rims with clear-coated blue spokes.
*
From its front air intake to the muffler end cap, this GSX-R SE serves up special appeal. Matching the blue wheel spokes and ram-air intake ports, the SE’s fork tubes and other specially selected components are anodized blue. That exclusive component finish is added to the fork adjusters, the steering stem nut, and the ring surrounding the tachometer.
*
At the rear of this custom superbike, Suzuki added a polished exhaust and muffler combination that’s finished with a black anodized endcap. Helping drive this motorcycle’s power is a blue-colored chain. And in between, the clutch cover, generator cover, and rear shock spring are given a blue finish.
*
More unique features distinguish the GSX-R1000 SE from all other motorcycles, including the individually numbered serial plate secured to the bike’s triple clamp, denoting each as one of only 100 built in the world. Still, beneath this superbike’s rich white body work and sole graphics treatment is the ultra-accessible and high-performance Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Pricing and availability will be announced soon.

Wow, that is truly straight up ugly. The only thing special is all cosmetic upgrades to set it apart and they will charge too much.

Re: New 2014 GSXR 1000 LE!!

I disagree on ugly. Buy every year the new bike is called the "ugliest ever" and by next year it is now the "most awesome ever" and the new bike becomes the ugliest ever.

But yea, should have done something performance wise. Even if it was just a limited edition yosh exhaust, wave rotors, and something like fancy wheels. Not just color full stufd

Re: New 2014 GSXR 1000 LE!!

I like the bike but do not like how they shined up everything to attract attention, more bling which to me is for the poser and not riders. In the end there is really nothing special about the bike to set it a part from any other on the market. Matter of fact those kind of cosmetic changes are out of date, welcome back to the 90's.

This isn't supposed to be a new bike .

It is a limited edition of the current bike for the anniversary. Same as they did with the 600 in 05? Or the red and white gsxr 1000 last year.

Need a new redesign completely imo. Time for a new model. They have been the same for the most part since 05 for the 1000 and 06 for the 600/750. Time to step it up...

I wouldn't necessarily say that. The 1000 got a reasonable siginificant redesign in 2009, frame/engine/suspension/wheels. Same with the 600/750 in 2011.

But yeah, the 1000 is basically on a nearly identical design now for 6 straight years going into 2014.

.

They both have had significant changes.

Now performance wise, they are all stagnating. It simply is getting hard to squeeze more performance out and keep them street able. Hence why many are putting largely useless gizmos on the bikes instead.

Thank you, Joe makes a very good point concerning performance upgrades. Sport bikes are already beyond most peoples abilities as is so putting anymore performance into them makes no sense. There is a very low percentage of riders who have the ability to handle these levels of performance so Suzuki is aiming their sights on the other part of the market that is going to bring in the money for them. Those who buy into the hype, lack a certain level of knowledge, etc.

I like this a lot! Only wish that they did not chrome out the frame. Not sure about blue stator cover too. But other than that, it is pretty sweet!

This is total crap. People were saying stuff like this back in the 80's and look where we are today. These companies should always be improving their offerings, not just giving us shitty special editions.

I want to see affordable high end tc, wheelie control, more adjustable factory parts, lighter weight etc
