Blue dots purpose was to make it more visible right? Wonder why they stopped doing that

Yeah the dots were for greater brake light effect.
I think they are still illegal in a lot of states, I know in Cali you can get a ticket for it.

I love how the add says advanced for its time. I love these old bikes, but they were out dated in the late 80s, let alone the early 90s.

They were oil cooled man. The other 3 Japanese manufacturers were already using water cooled by 85. They didnt even update their frames to a modern design until the srad came out in 96. Dont get me wrong, I love these old bikes, but they were not advanced. They may have had the best oil cooling in the class, but it was surely the last.

Yeah, but on the race track they were having problems. Suzuki stuck to their oil cooled motors and perimeter frame designs for way too many years.

FZR DeltaBox was a leader and the ZX7R was cool but the GSXR was the easiest to work on IMO

That oil cooled motor is by far the easiest to work on. Its also nice that you can swap motor sizes easily. Much easier to find parts for also, than the other bikes mentioned. Its like the chevy 350 of the motorcycle world.

Yamaha and Kawi might have been doing a bit more advanced stuff back then but Team Hammer AKA Team Suzuki Endurance did have a run from 89-97. the advances in tech used might have made them a bit faster or handle better but they didn't take the abuse for long. Of course that is just looking at American endurance racing amd also looking at the 1100's and not the 750's.

Team hammer, if i remember correctly, continued to use the oil cooled motors even after the water cooled GSX-R's came out. I would take consistent reliability over fancy bells and whistles any day.
