For UK guys, when you buy parts from the US, how bad is the shipping to get it to you? I'm trying to figure out how ridiculous it would be to have larger car parts (fenders, hoods, suspension pieces) shipped here from Leicester, England. If any US people have shipped larger pieces from UK would help also. I'm just trying to get a rough idea if it's reasonable to do, or crazy expensive. Thanks.
Wiseass! The companies I looked at on Google have no posted rates, you have to forward them specifics & they will give you an estimate. I'm trying to get a general idea since I have no way of knowing if someone was giving me a shitty, out of line price, or not.

Re: Serious question for shipping costs from UK
I have sent stuff to Belgium in a shoebox sized package with an average weight was like $40+ or something like that, so large car parts coming from England would make me think it's gonna be damn expensive.

Thanks, I'm just trying to get at least a rough idea. I never did any shipping either way overseas. I've shipped some larger things to Caribbean islands for people & it was stupid expensive. I was looking at a car that has no US distribution so I would need to bring in anything needed myself. I'm starting to think it's a bad idea.

I hear ya. I collect coins and see coins on ebay being sold overseas often. Shipping for those to the US is like $10-15 a coin so I could only imagine large car parts.

Holy Moly! That's what I was afraid I would find out, but I was just guessing. I don't even want to know what a whole front or rear clamshell would cost. Probably cost me 5 grand to ship the damn thing!
I ship all the time to the UK, small flat rate priority box that are $5.4 here cost 16ish to ship over there.
I buy a lot of parts as favors, and pass the savings on to my UK friends and sometimes they get larger $50-60 is common to ship carbs, shocks, etc. I recently had a helmet shipped to me from the uk, maybe a 16x16x28 box and I think it was around $100, but it was special. Just don't ship a fuel tank to Australia!

Thanks, you guys confirmed the fears I had about getting raped when I needed parts. Sounds like it could get out of hand pretty quick.

If you tell me your location in the US and an example of a larger part and the vehicle it is for, I could phone around and find some shipping cost quotes for you from parts dealers.
Or if you have the business name in Leicester the parts would be coming from I'll bell them first thing for you and find out direct prices from them.

Hey Cainy, I was looking at a 2006 Noble M12 GTO-3R here in the US. The US disributor went out of business. The worst part would be a rear clamshell. It's the whole rear of the car body in one piece. It would be going to Pennsylvania, US. I have a feeling the shipping cost will stop my heart. Many of the engine, clutch, tranny, parts I could source here, but stuff like body parts, suspension parts, interior pieces, glass, lights, are unique & would have to come from Noble UK. Thanks, pal.

Thanks, whenever you have time, no rush. I had emailed Noble UK & they referred me back to the US distributor, Rossion, that has gone out of business in Florida. Here's their phone number, Telephone +44(0)116 289 2431
