New guy... no GSXR yet. Got a Bandit though.

Hi All,

Newbie here...
I got a Suzuki GSF250 for my L's going to P's next year.
Pic of my beast... lol.
http://instagr.am/p/TIQ91qlpzv/

Been riding since I was 12... My folks got me a 125 dirtbike then a 250.
Stopped riding when I turned 16... got into cars.

Still into cars now, got a S15 but going to sell that soon-ish for a mortgage.

Got a bike as a daily, girlfriend not too happy.
But of course every boy, no matter what age... we still need our toys.

Looking to get a GSXR750 when I hit my fulls... love the gixxers but drools over nakeds.

Maybe get a GSXR750 '07 then get headlights and fairings from a GSR750 and make it fit somehow. Make it look like a Suzuki Virus.

You in Japan? How'd you get your hands on an S15? Unless you have an S14 conversion...

Hey... yeah from Sydney.
Thanks Samschou.

Here she is...
http://instagram.com/p/Rw628jlp1s/

Sad to see her go but I hate renting, want a house.
I haven't driven my car for like 3 months now since I got the bike.

It's so much cheaper to run and you can park anywhere.

Anyone from Sydney looking for a S15?...

I have a bandit too, but a 600.
They are great machines. They have a good mix between old and new school.

I usually only ride bikes that are at least 25 years old, lol.

Yeah... bandits are very customizable.
The previous owner changed the handlebars so it rides like a road bike.
Pretty cool but not comfortable for long rides.

25 years old?... they're like classified as classic after 25 years don't they?

Welcome to the forums. The bandit is a good bike. You have pics of the S15? Those are nice cars. We didnt get anything after the S14.

I currently have a 600 Bandit and the only thing I changed was the stock bars to flat Renthals as I couldn't get used to the upright position after riding the gix for so long.

Bulletproof engines and with a decent rider will give bigger bikes a run in the twisties.

Yeah, I'm surprised with my little 250.... I only got it for 3k with 15000kms on it.

Hey cainy boy... can you send me a pic of your bandit600?... i want to see your renthal bars.
My bars are low coz the previous owner got those cafe-racer style ones.... looks good but hurts my back anything after an hour.

Nice. At least you can get another one there. We cant get them here until 2024 when they become legal to import under the 25 year exemption. We have very strict laws on importing non USDM cars. Unless ofcourse theyre 25 and older.

Hope you enjoy your 250 bandit, I had one (2000 model) as my first bike, was good fun. Traded it on on the GSXR750K9 when I got my full.

Lots of elbow grease

Paint the rusty chrome bits first.

Thinking of putting this short pipe permanently but I am still experimenting with a 4" baffle and some baffle wrap to keep it quiet as it's really, really, really LOUD.

Re: New guy... no GSXR yet. Got a Bandit though.

Any ideas on how to quiet down a short pipe?...

I screwed in a 4" flute baffle... filled the sides with baffle wrap.
Squirted the inside with engine enamel to keep the baffle wrap from spitting out.

But its still loud.
But mind you, I've heard other bikes that are waaaaay louder.

Re: New guy... no GSXR yet. Got a Bandit though.

It's been 4 months since painting and paint still looks good.

I put on 2 coats of primer and 4 coats of paint.

Hope it stays that way.

Pretty snazzy car for a postal delivery person. Was it hard to adapt to the steering wheel on the right or wrong side of the car?
