Hi All, I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I missed the thread on this. I'm currently interested in buying a 2011 gixxer 600 but not quite sure what kind of price I should expect to pay for one and when the best time to buy one is. Any help would be appreciated.
If its your first bike, not unfilled you have ridden and dropped your 250 a few times. If its not, the end of the year, or about when the 2013s come out.
No matter if dealer or private (I don't wanna pay dealer prices) best time to buy is Jan and Feb.
Here in Eastern Canada they jack up the prices on March 1st, even if the weather will still be too cold for another month or two.
Dealer's gotta make room for new models and private people are broke in January or they even got the really big itch to get rid of their "old" bike to buy the dream bike they want next so bad.
It's not so much about the effort of winterizing and storage (if it get's that cold in your area) plus they just started to put the bike up for sale and didn't look at it for the past 4 months already, wishing they'd have it sold by now.
Don't forget to walk away ice cold if you don't agree with the price. Keep the upper hand and don't let them know how bad you really want that bike.
Motorcycle: '06 750 track bike, '05 Yamaha FZ1, '02 XR400.

Deals pop up all the time on CL. Keep looking and you'll find a good price on a 600 that may be a few years old. Out on CA I don't think there's a real "good" time to buy since riding season is year round.
I'd be going for a gixxer 600 from 06 and up. Not the newer 2011. Still too expensive, low availability of used units on the market and those previous generation gixxers just got tons of parts for cheap. Everything with a new'er bike is expensive.
Thanks for the info, I think I'll hold out for January, February before I pick one up. I ride a lil 250 china cruiser now (just to get back into it haven't ridden streetbikes before only dirtbikes) and an looking for something with more power and style.
