Ring Gap 750

Does anybody know what the ring gap is supposed to be when they are in the bores ? The 96-99 Suzuki manual says 0.50mm is the limit but doesn't give a minimum gap. I measured mine approx 3/4 inch up from the bottom of the bore and I can barely get a .10mm feeler in it.
