Steering Damper Rod rubbing Air Intake tube

Guys,
Ive noticed that now when i turn hard right the Steering Damper rod is rubbing the Air intake tube on the right . WTF! so after closer investigation i see that the bolt holding it in the center on the frame mount is loose. I tighten that up and still the damn rod is rubbing the paint off the air tube when i turn.
Closer inspection: I look at the frame mount that the damper body mounts to and its beveled. Is it suppose to be beveled like that ? Or is the frame mount bolt hole suppose to be smooth and flat?

Just need to know if maybe just the bushing inside the damper is worn or what?
let me know if anyone else has had this issue.
thanks.

Heim joints are designed to allow movement because the angle changes as the bars turn. The play is normal probably.

If it is hitting the ram air tube I would actually be looking at why the tube has moved. Check your fairing stay where it mounts to the frame.
