what's up guys. I'm new to the forum. basically i have just bought myself a 07 gsxr 600 and my problem is that the bike won't go over 9k RPM's. it's like that's the top RPM that the bike can reach. any idea idea what is possibly going on???

Mileage?

Check valve clearances, check fuel filters, air filter

Without an FI error being indicated, it's probably a fuel delivery problem. Do the fuel pump tests as described in the manual.

What does it do when you get to 9k? Does it shut on/off, stutter, just smoothly lose power?

Does it lose power on the way to 9k or pull strong right up to 9k?

mileage is 23180 km. it kind of loose power on the way to 9k and when it reaches 9k it just stays there. it doesn't cut off or anything and if i pop the clutch it doesn't take off as hard as it should.

Fuel starvation. Almost positive. Now you just need to figure out why. Too little pressure, intake restriction (filter), or otherwise.

Take the bike out for a ride, get back home, and then open the fuel cap (put your ear next to it when you open it) listen for a "whoosh" of air.

And if you have air "whooshing"

then you need to open / clear the vent so you aren't creating a vacuum in the tank.

Sure sounds like a fuel problem to me also.

clogged line/filter or loose connection in the fp relay.

thnx for the replies guys. I think i figured out the problem. The bike is running on the 4 lower injectors. is that a problem with the ecu??

that depends. has it thrown FI codes? is there current at the injectors?

Top injectors don't kick in until the higher RPMs

Check your oil. If it is massively overfilled it would do that. Easy and with a try.
