SRAD speedo off-how to fix?

I have a 96 gsxr 750 with an afam aftermarket sprocket, I believe 5+ tooth (I don't know what stock is). My speedo is off by about 10 mph at 55, and further off from there. I've read up and searched to see what would work, and I have yet to see anything specifically for an srad. Would a speedo healer for any bike work or is there something specific I need? Thanks in advance for any help.

how do you know its further off from 55.... sounds like your almost admitting guilt get a speedo healer or live with it or go back to stock gearing

Re: SRAD speedo off-how to fix?

bump (cause im searching) my 97 600 has stock gearing (16-46) and its off with this same idea. anything 55 and under and its just about dead nuts on....after that, it goes in wierd increments like 115 is actually about 109(GPS checked both a tom tom style and my cellular device). and then 125 is about spot on and then 130 reads about 132. as far as i know the speedo is on the front sprocket cover? could it go bad? or am i completely wrong and my gearing is not stock....from the research ive done that sprocket set is stock for a 1997 SRAD 600.

Re: SRAD speedo off-how to fix?

Speedo has a tolerance of 10% also GPS speedos only read speed as if the world is flat. Any incline and the GPS isn't reading correct speed

My 600 runs a 520 chain with 17T front 43T rear sprockets. And its spot on pefect. I did have to take the cluster off and remove the needle and adjust it a few times to get it set perfect. (two spoons to take the needle off works great for this)

Also, unless you converted to a digi display.... How confident are you that your actually seeing it correctly? Head position alone can change what you are reading by 5 mphs easily. And on occasion these clusters seem to act flakey.....

Re: SRAD speedo off-how to fix?

well its not a huge deal since i normally dont look at it anyways. if it werent for the low fuel light i wouldnt have it on there at all (for a while i didnt actually) anyways was just curious if there was a quick and simple fix to this. thanks for the replies however. and youre right could be just my head moving around, no other explanation for the weird fluctuations in speed.
