I wear corrective lenses while riding and my current helmet has a drop down sun visor kinda like the scorpion exo1000. I noticed i use it a lot, but it reduces my helmet choices, plus it makes them heavier for the most part.
Well, its time for a new helmet, and i want to try out a a lens insert that tints during the day and clear up at night. Does anyone have any experience with these? Some people say they work fine, others say they dont.
I saw the E-tint, but theyre a little pricey at over 100 bucks. Then theres also these, but im not sure how good they are. Anyone got any experience with these?
Bell now has a transition lens they sell for around 100 everyone I have talked to swears by them so go buy yourself an rs1 or star and throw that lens in. I suggest you pick one up from sportbiketrackgear and ride on. Ask for Jason when you call them if you do
Confuses vag for cock... That would be "cock" as in rooster. Which might be even worse. And takes more duct tape to avoid a damn mess. Has lead to interesting nights.

I have had mine for about 6 months (Transitions in my two Bell RS-1's) and it is awesome. It is the same company that produces Transitions eyeglass lenses, so same quality and performance.
I love mine, and I ride in the bright South Florida noonday sun all the time. Perfectly clear at night too.
It fits the Star, RS-1, Vortex and Revolver so you have choices.
I wasnt really aiming for a RS1 as my next helmet, but its starting to sound better due to the lens it offers. Is there any other brand that offers this? or is it only bell right now?

Only bell as of now the star and rs1 are very nice helmets for the price and the lens IMO makes it one of the best on the market rite now for a street helmet

Huge bump from the dead. I ended up buying a bell star helmet with the photochromatic shield and it is working wonders!
It gets pretty dark during the day to the point where I can barely see my face in a mirror. It doesn't take long to switch from clear to dark either. By the time I go outside, put on my helmet and gloves, it's already dark.
At night it's as clear as the regular one.
