I'm nearing baldness with my 98 GSXR 750. It's not getting spark nor power to the coilpacks. I've changed the battery, fuses,CDI,Kisckstand sensor,TOS,sparkplugs, ignition switch & pulser. I have no idea what else it could be. I would think it could be the coilpacks but since there is no power to them, it has to be somethin else. Anyone else had an issue like this??
I got a new relay for the fusebox, installed it and still no spark. I've traced wires and all look good. What else coulc cause zero spark at the coils?
98 is not constantly powered like an inductive system you will not have 12v at the coil, its cdi, hits the coils with 90v each at firing, a peak hold tester will check firing voltage, ac settings on the multimeter may also read it at cranking
probably check the connectors at the ecu , make sure there is no corrosion, make sure your grounds are clean, are the cam and crank sensor both functioning right
and is the inlet cam pin at the correct installed height
No corrosion on ECU pins / connections. The main ground that connects to the negative side of the battery is clean. Not sure how to troubleshoot a cam / crank sensor. Any tips?
May be a internal fault to the ecu. If you power ground and continuity checks are all good and you've ruled out all other options that can prevent the bike from starting what's left. You do have a good charge on the battery right, all other electronics work?
Also the spade connector near the the main gnd terminal
realy need a peak hold to measure with multimeter or an occilloscope to check v out from the crank and cam sensors, maybe ac settings will show it
i think a peak hold is just a capacitor ?? Sradiator or anyone else more familiar with them ?? when i was troubleshooting mine i just borrowed it from my dealer, but not everyone has the interaction i do with there dealers

I just charged the battery to full strength and tried. No spark again. I'm really at a loss on this one. I'm not sure what else i could be missing here.
have you checked your tip over sensor to make sure it didnt fall over?
The tip over will let the bike crank but never fire. Tho it should give a Fi code as well.

Yes- I did the TOS remedy where you fill it full of silicone so its doesn't activate. The ring was in dead center. I also bypassed the TOS just for good measure and still no spark.
This motor came out of a carb'd bike as the original motor was needing rebuilt, but the changes were done to mirror the FI engine. I'm out of ideas on this one, it may just need to be boned out at this point.
