I hope that guy was alright...

The other people are a Bunch of heartless pricks trying to drive around him, instead of helping.

Re: Bike runs over cyclist

A lot of those foreign countries are just way too damn desensitized to stuff like that.. Like that little girl who was lying on the side of a street in china and people and cars were just going around and let her lay there and die.

Go here to see what I am talking about.. It is even more fucked up IMO.

Re: Bike runs over cyclist

It's not foreign countries. Many in our country would do the same thing. Take a psychology class and you'll learn that in emergency type situations like posted above, most people won't volunteer to help. Mainly for fear of doing something wrong, thinking someone else is more qualified etc. Also the fact that they were on a busy road. Imagine 15 people stopping to help 2 injured people. It'd be a nightmare.

At least the guy on the bike was attempting to help. Must have been pretty banged up himself considering how fast he hit the cyclist. Damn hopefully they were both okay.

I dunno about where you live..but where I am from.. If people see you wreck they usually stop and help. People with chains drive the back roads for the sole reason of pulling people out and helping when the roads are bad...and that's just when people are stuck... When someone is hurt..practically everyone stops to help..whether help is needed or not.

Maybe it's just a Southern thing.

I'm ashamed to say, I think it is.

I grew up in the country. Nobody was a stranger. To this day I still stop and help. The wife hates it - and I'm pretty sure I almost got jacked once - but I try to imagine myself or a loved one in that position.

i have been involved in 2 serious incidents in the US where at least first aid and an ambulance ride had to be used, one was doubtful of ever making it and in both situations, i was the ONLY one to offer assistance. get off of your horse.

*edit= one incident was even in your state of NY and the CT line on the interstate.
