So today. I had issues starting my bike after school bike was sitting outside for roughly 12 hours ( yeah long school day) . Wen I finally when to the bike to turn it on it had a rough idle and would not stay on. I had to gas it a little during start up to keep the bike on to warm up. I smelled rich So I let go of the throttle and it died again. I am slightly confused on what could be causing this problem? When I finally got her home I turned her off and turned it back in and she turned on like a champ.. My bike only had 4k miles on it. And have only had her for a year or so. Bought her new in 2010.
Was it because it is cold outside? Slightly?
The only mods I have on my bike are HID's low and high beam.and a Jardine slip
on. I've seen a lot of you guys have the same high and low beam HID's did you guys have similar problem?

You do have a E-33 bike. Disable that function. I had to on my bike because liquid gas got into the lines and jacked that whole system. When this happens the bike runs extremely rich and won't stay started cold or hot. If this is so, E-33 is your problem.
If you bike was purchased it Cali, it has the E-33 option. Lamons terms smog crap.
This is hard to explain. Easy to do but hard to elplain.
There is a hose that goes from tank to a check valve, in front of the battery. Remove that hose and block off the tank connection. From that check valve a hose runs up past the battery to a charcol canister in the rear passenger fender. Remove that hose. Just leave the check valve there with nothing hooked up to it. Remove that canister. Remove the other hose that goes from the canister to a check valve next to the throttle bodies. That is pretty much all you have to do.
This caused starting issues with me. I filled up my tank in 30 degree weather. Took my bike to work and with the heat from the engine the gas expanded and flooded my check valves and canister. None E-33 bikes would just leak that gas to the ground. So everytime I started the bike after that day the system was trying to get rid of the gas and was flooding the enigne. I removed all hoses and canister and let the bike run for 5 minutes holding the rpm up around 4k to get rid of the left over gas in the throttle bodies area. Bike ran perfetly fine after doing this.
