1052 vs. 1127

I'm sure this info has been covered on here at some point but not having much luck locating it . I know that 1127 blocks and cranks won't interchange with 1052's (without machining) but what about the head? From what I understand 1990 is a pre-shim era head. Will a 1990 head be compatible on a 1052?

Thank you,

Trent

Hillclimbing an 1166 in a modified CR 500 chassis.

Re: 1052 vs. 1127

so a dot head doesn't fit a 1052, but fit's a 1127 i don't think from past discussions
a 1127 head fits on 1052 barrels

Re: 1052 vs. 1127

Thank you both! I had the opportunity to pick up a 1990 1100, but already having (3 ) 1052's I wanted the option to put the 1127 head on my 1052 cylinders if needed. I will stick with searching for the 86-88 models.

Re: 1052 vs. 1127

The only difference in 1052 vs 1127 cases is a 30mm starter hole vs a40mm on. And the case covers are a bit different

They both will mount up in any oil cooled chassis 85-92

This is what Im aware of and have played with

Holes for sleeves might be a bit different. Never measured

Re: 1052 vs. 1127

Sure didn't intend for everyone to answer this common question, but I just did't have time to research this site. The guy needed an answer from me asap or was going to sell to someone else. Thanks.

Re: 1052 vs. 1127

Keep in mind. The dot head will work bolt on with stock pistons

Any big bore domed style piston, the chambers and the pistons will both need modded

Not just a quick switcharoo
