vaccum sense?

I have started going through all the other parts of my bike getting ready for when the motor goes in.

I was looking at the carbs i have noticed there is some sort of sensor on the back of 2 float bowls. The sensor has 2 hose inputs and 1 electronic output,
so its some sort of vaccum sensor im guess? (see photos)

so confirm to me that it is a vacc sense?
and why would a carb motor's CDI need to know vaccum?

Also why can i not find this part in the manual? i have looked under fuel and under electronics seen nothing on a vacc sense. might try micro finch

Re: vaccum sense?

ahh damn this always happens i figure it out after i post :P

i found it in the supplement pages at the bottom of the manual
its a solenoid valve, and the 2 of them operate (on off combination) over rev range 2700 to 8800 K

i still have questions for this.... Why?
ok i read more and its lean out the mix over the rev range.

so is this taken into account when you guys install your factory pro kits? and i notice there are air jets in 2 of the lines?

Re: vaccum sense?

I believe the factory pro kit specifies to disconnect these via the electrical connectors?

No..the FP kit makes no mention of the solenoids or their removal. That said , you van make their kits run well without the solenoids, as I did with LEANS.

It is the Dynojet kits that specify disconnect of the solenoids, and only some of those at that depending on year and version of kit.....but usually only the 99-00 kits.

Re: vaccum sense?

Where is your 2nd solenoid? Is it out of view...removed from Carb bracket, still attached to Carb #1 vacuum line and sitting on the table?

Re: vaccum sense?

lol i was just waiting for you guys to pick that :P

i have a spare set of carbs with 2 good solenoids on it they are to go on this one.
you may have also noticed in the first picture that the inlet is broken off, was waiting for you to pick that as well haha

So i will leave them on them and wire as per manual.
