Unlowering an 08 750, questions

Bought an 08 750 Org/Blk last summer that had been lowered about an inch.

The lowering appears to have been done correctly as they lowered the clipons on the front forks also.

Well i want it back to stock so I found a set of stock dogbones on ebay for the bike, got them in and on the bike and it doesn't seem to have raised it up at all. Seat height is still right where it was at 31 1/4".

Now i'm assuming the bonehead that sold them to me was incorrect when he said these were the correct stock bones for this bike, But....

I'm not sure if I'm going to have to raise the clipons first to see the seat height back to stock..??

Since it's sitting right where it was with the aftermarket bones on it, and the front is lowered correctly to match that (approx 1/4" inch) i don't really want to move the clipons yet until i'm sure i have the right stock dog bones on.

Can anyone tell me for sure i'm my assumption is right, that correct stock dog bones should have raised the rear end up at least some..?

Does anyone know the hole measurements on the stock dog bones so i can check that measurement agains the ones i just put on..?

Thanks...

Go ahead and raise the front end back to stock height you should see a change in the seat height (not alot but it will change).

Re: Unlowering an 08 750, questions

I guess i didn't make my desire real clear..

I'm not returning it to stock just for the seat height, i'm doing so primarily to get the geometry back to where it is supposed to be.

I'm faster through the corners on my stock 07 600 than i am with this bike, and i shouldn't be so i want to get it back to the way it was designed to be.

Which is why i don't want to just mess with returning the front height back to stock if i'm still an inch low in the back...

Re: Unlowering an 08 750, questions

after owning every type of bike like stretched &lowered, lowered, and plain stock, i can tell you when you raise the front back up the geometry will even back out. when you raise the front end the entire bike is going from sitting at a slight nose dive to evening out which will bring the rear up back to the stock configuration youre looking for
