91 GSXR 750 carb

Hey all! I have a total newb question for you. I have an 82 CB750F I'm ressurecting am going to be putting gsxr carbs on it. From the reading I've done, the best choice is a 90-92 750 carb. Do you agree? I'm going to go check one out tomorrow, the problem is I have no idea what it looks like compared to any other year carb. Was wondering if anyone had a pic or could describe what to look for? Thanks! Your help is very much appreciated! (My knowledge of carbs is that I can point to it on a bike. lol.)

Re: 91 GSXR 750 carb

The 91-92 bike used 38mm carbs. I would think that would be a bit too large for older CB, that is unless you've SERIUOSLY built it up. I think the earlier 36mm GSXR carbs would be a better match (even they may be too big).
You may get some responses in the "oil cooled" section. A lot of the guys in there are into building older bikes and may have some better info for you.

Re: 91 GSXR 750 carb

Thanks for moving this for me, I wasn't quite sure where to put it! I believe the 89 was 36mm. Maybe they changed to 38mm. I know ppl have used they 89, also 86-88 1100 carbs.
