Minimising accident damage to engine etc

Im trying to find products that will minimise damage to my K4 track bike in the event of a spill at the track. Im not talking about keeping it cosmetically perfect, but trying to minimise damage so that i) it doesnt spoil my day if i have a minor off, and ii) it doesnt cost a fortune to sort out when i get home.

At the moment it has:-
1) some short Pazzo levers, which i hope wont get broken, but i guess that will lead to a damaged clip-on.

2) R & G frame mushrooms, and R & G swinging arm bobbins that my paddock stand hooks into.

3) I have also just bought some front fork mushrooms that go through the front wheel spindle.

The remaining expensive vulnerable areas seem to be the frame, and the clutch and alternator cover. There seem to be lots of covers that are either carbon fibre, metal (woodcraft), or Polypropylene (R&G).

Can anyone tell me anything about how they perform, or what they have used, before i spend money on something that looks ok, but doesnt really work?

thanks

Ian

Bar end sliders might also help if they're allowed.

Another vulnerable area is the starter cover. As I hope you're already aware, there are two basic options 1) a protective cover for the existing cover or 2) a stronger cover that may have a built in slider. I think that the second option provides more protection but weighs a bit more. With regard to the starter cover, the casting that runs from the starter to the starter clutch is also available in addition to the cover.

I reckon case covers are the single best piece of protection you can fit to a trackbike. The woodcraft ones seem to work well from what I've seen. I'll have to get some soon...

(Best protection for a roadbike is a good fully comp insurance policy)
