Re: Rust Removal
I read about POR15 and cream/kream/kreem (don't remember exactly how that thing is spelled). Both products received posited feedbacks however I haven't tried them
From what I was able to find, Kreem will come off over time. It will be a pain and just really isnt worth it.
Por-15 is the shit! IN a good way.. lol
It is a bit harder to apply the KREEM, but you get a much beter outcome with it. FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS. Por-15 has a motorcycle tank repair kit for about 50 bucks. WELL worth it.
I read an article in PB, according to them, the best way to remove rust is to fill tank with water and baking soda at a rate of 1 tbsp per gallon, suspend an iron (not SS) bolt in it, and pass current through the bolt and tank.......all the rust turns black and is suspended in the bath. Then treat with POR 15.
I can post up the exact details if anyone would like.
That is interesting... Never even seen anyone talk about that before. lol
The Por-15 claims, and from what I can see it works, to bond to rust and make a layer stronger then the steel.
My tank is night and day different. you can still see where the rust was because the surface is not as smooth, but the 'paint' has bonded to it and is very strong.
