Re: 99 750 motor in a 97 600 frame

( I'd appreciate anyone not leaking the location of this bike - it is not posted on this forum)

this is why I ask - gonna keep my eye on this bike and prolly get it next month, the seller isn't motivated to sell and there is almost no interest in it - think it's a good deal? I have everything needed to turn it to FI - it has only seen 2 track days. Stock motor. I guess I'd sell the carbed motor and make some money back.

GSXR600 trackbike.

* pics, year, and info of bike deleted for prevention

What's the title situation like? Although, you could probably part that puppy out for more than $1500...

I am asking if that is a good deal - I'm not selling it, I want to buy it. I have everything needed to make it a 99 750 FI bike....as opposed to what it is currently...a 97 600 carbed bike. This is a dedicated track bike, so it will be bill of sale only - no title.

Re: 99 750 motor in a 97 600 frame

holy shit i would jump all over that and if i didn't my gf would for me... i say go for it since you had so much fun at the track already. and if you gonna keep the srad you got on the street then a srad track bike seems a no brainer not just for parts swapping. i would think the 600 swinger would hold up to it.. the gf's b12 swinger is not braced and its got lots more torque then my 750 and maybe close to the same hp numbers now with the mods she has on it.

No way...that bike looks totally abused and completely unsafe for any kind of track days. I would get as far away from that bike as possible!
In fact...If you tell me EXACTLY where it is located then i can be sure of steering clear of it myself!

Lol i think what he is trying to say, is that the sum of the parts alone, would be worth it!!!!!

No...No...What i am trying to say is that the bike looks like a death trap and I am willing to throw myself on the grenade so that others may live!

Re: 99 750 motor in a 97 600 frame

nah not yet. I told the misses and she said with a smile "oh that's great and it's really nice" however her eyes were not on me and she started wiping down something that didn't need to be cleaned

so I'll give her some time - hopefully the bike won't sell as there is little to no interest. I offered $1100 but the owner is pretty firm on the price as he needs health insurance. Had he taken the $1100 - it would be in my garage right now getting ready for the swap to FI.

Re: 99 750 motor in a 97 600 frame

I see that. I may talk to the guy about some kind of payment plan option (that way the misses won't see such a large chunk of money roll out at once LOL) ....I just got wind of a 98 750 in FL dude will sell for $1000. Just needs a transmission(which he has) and plastics. That's easy.......hmmmm. Says he just doesn't have the time. I dunno though....the 97 is lighter than the 98/99....
