Clutch Cable Adjust - Brilliant

Kind of proud of myself...

My clutch lever began feeling floppier and looser... had the lever adjuster wheel full out, still had tons of slop... the lever would not engage anything for about the first inch and a half ...

I called the local Suzuki dealership, and he told me the clutch was probably gone... quoted on the phone a $500 clutch rebuild.

Visited these forums, and there was TONS of help on how to adjust the clutch cable at the engine end. I didnt play around with the screw behind the rubber boot... I simply screwed in the adjuster at the lever, backed off the cable adjuster behind the fairing, then backed off the screw adjuster at the lever slightly for a good feel on the lever end. Now everything is tight and the loosy-goosy feel and floppiness at the lever is completely gone.

Thank you, GIXXER forum for all the help.

Still wouldnt hurt to maybe take a look at your clutch plates down the road, and see if they're getting burned out. How many miles are on your bike/clutch?

Feels good to do something yourself doesnt it? Good Job.

Re: Clutch Cable Adjust - Brilliant

48 is a good start...
But as said above, it might be getting time (depending on your riding style) to start saving for that clutch.

If you have any skill as a wrench, with the help here and the factory service manual, you can save a LOT of money by replacing the clutch yourself.
