Ok so I was on vacation last week and put a ton of miles on the bike, bout 1600 to be exact. Well it was runnin well at the begining of the week and as was on it all week started to really act up. Was noticing a lot of vibrations coming out of the pegs, usually rides incredibly smooth, but most of that subsided when I lubed the chain again. The big issue i'm having now tho is my bike is incredibly slugish. once I really get in it the power seems to be there but dies off quickly and pretty much have to completely get on it. I just passed 18,800 miles on it just did the oil and filter change but I'm still runnin my stock spark plugs. I'm thinkin that it's the plugs(hopin and prayin) so i got a set ordered up should be here this week does that seem like it should be the issue??? anyone ever had their plugs go bad on em and it really cut into the performance and the smoothness of the bike??
filter is a new k & n so that's good. what should I be looking for with the valves isn't making any more noise then normal no ticking doesn't stall out at all no engine noise at all.
You should have changed out those plugs at 7,500 miles. I bet the gap on your plugs is Huge. And yes worn plugs will give you those symptoms, hopefully that is all it needs.
plugs should be here in a day or 2 had to be special ordered...I knew the plugs were coming just odd how it crapped out completely in like a week but then again i did do a ton of riding in that week...Let ya know how it goes
Not too odd, really, when you live on borrowed time that long....One day they'll just chuck the toys out the cot and that's it. It only takes one to go down and the engine will run with a dead hole. Try to keep up with the maintenance a little better, the bike'll wanna make love to you more often.
