Triple Clamp Interchange

I did a search but couldn't find a clear answer to my question.
I know the forks for an 04-05 600/750 will fit the 03-04 1000.... but will the lower triple fit aswell?
I wasn't sure if the stem would be the same or not.

See if the bearings are the same between them. If they use the same bearings, the stem is the same.

This says nothing about whether the steering stem will be the correct length though.... not to mention several other variables...

Thanks for the reply. Those are exactly the variables I was wondering about. I don't have access to the triple for comparision. Mine is bent and I just happened to come across a good deal on one for a 750 and remimbered their forks were compatible.

The K4/K5 600-750 should have a 50mm top and 54mm bottom.

The 03/04 1K should be the same.

Thanks man but I already found the fork chart during my searching. At least the one I found didn't have any info regarding the stem length/dia. That's my concern.

Just measure the length of the stem from the top of the bottom tree to the top of the stem. Then just ask the guy you are trying to buy it from to do the same.

If you swap out both top and bottom trees and use your forks, it will all fit.

Sorry for the slight thread jack, but is it 100% true that the 04-05 600/750 fork tubes are a direct swap (without changing the triples) in on the 03-04 1000? If so, is there any downside to this? The DLC on my 03 1000 is pitted and killing fork seals so I'm looking for the best way to remedy the situation and if the 600/750 forks will work I'm all for it, especially if they are Showa units rather than KYB as I have heard rumored?

maybe you guys can help me out.... mine is a gixxer 1000 04, do you know if the lower triple tree from the 2005 may fit the 2004?

I don't have access to the triple for comparision. I just got a great deal at ebay on one for a 1000 05-06 and maybe their forks are compatible.

if you know something about it let me know. thanks a lot
