Question how do I bypass the kickstand safety switch?

I'm having a problem with my bike shutting down at random. usually starts right back up. Trying the "process of elimination method." How do I go about bypassing the kickstand switch? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks and happy fourth!!!

The switch is an open/close switch. Just disconnect it and use a piece of wire or paper clip to close the loop on the harness side.

to do it temp? You could put a hose clamp securely on it temp. More permanent would be to cut and connect the two wires together.

I cut the switch off from the wires, twisted them together, taped the twisted wires up and pulled the wires up away from anything they could get caught in, removed the switch from the bike and tossed it in my toolbox. Works like a charm. I should probably solder that connection though so it doesn't leave me stranded one day...

Re: how do I bypass the kickstand safety switch?

thanks for the advice. I got it running great. didn't have to mess with the switch. I have an aftermarket kickstand. the tab that contacts the switch wasn't making good contact so I bent it up. Also adjusted the idle b/c it was a little too low and I could hear the fuel pump stressing. I figured it might not be getting enough fuel when I was still in gear and off the throttle. I also found a wiring clip unplugged under the tank, red and gray wire I believe. So one or all of those things helped. now she's running like a raped date. Too bad shes in the shop for sprockets and chain or I'd be out ripping it up. Be sfae out there everybody. have a good weekend. Thanks again for the advice.
