You know, I never had a problem with Gary. He was really a good guy, I mean sure he had his shortcomings like anyone else. He had a short fuse, but given he wanted to live a quiet life. As far as other child stars go... he dwarfed them all
Gary Coleman was for sure head and shoulders above the rest... of our knee caps
You leave big shoes to fill... not so much It was sad that his passing was such short notice.
Your too much Vooduguru! The original post was funny, but your reply stole the show!
All kidding aside, Gary really got the short end of the stick when it came to his life after Diff'rent Strokes. IIRC it was his adoptive parents that took and spent his earnings while on the show when he was under 18. There were some lawsuits and I think he was able to recover some of it, but when you become that big of a star at that age, it's virtually impossible to live that down. I mean look at the number of stars that try to break out of their childhood character only to end up (if one was lucky) to get typecast or just fade away into oblivion. Gary made some decent money by getting endorsements and I really think that a lot of these altercations were spurred on by him just trying to live a somewhat normal life. There was one incident where some dunk fucker at a bowling alley acosted him and basically (from what witnesses stated) was harassing Gary. Well, Gary didn't take any shit from this huge redneck and well...he struck him or something to that effect. It escalated into basically a cluster fuck and the guy that Gary hit thought that he was LOADED so he claimed assault (how big of a pussy do you have to be to claim that Gary Coleman beat you up????)
I think there was a settlement.
But I really wish people would have left him be.

I DID feel bad for the guy, if I heard right didn't his parents spend all of money for the show plus left him in dept.
Dunno if stated, but I read a news article through my phone about some stand up puppet show or something he was doing before he died, and I guess he would tell everyone that his life was the hardest life of anybody, growing up being an icon where anytime he would see people and they'd say "Whatchu' talkin bout willis?" and it was stated that he hated that more then anything, that and his parents for stealing all of his money and leaving him alone.
I guess what mostly caused it all, was his accident while rehearsal, he fell off a ladder or something and had something to do with his head, was in the hospital for a couple days and they took him off life support. Kind of a tough rough life he lived, he was living in some theater or something as well.
