I help a couple of friends with their 55' Chevy promod. This weekend we went down to Tulsa for the Throwdown in Ttown and we had a great weekend with a best pass ever at 4.19 @ 172 MPH!
We have never run the car in the 1/4 mile because most fast door car/heads up racing has gone to 1/8th mile in this area. The run transfers to about a 6.42 in the 1/4.
Bitchin car. I love big hp door slammers. But 1/8th is teh suck. Ive never understood it
Thanks The car looked prettier before it had a disagreement with a wall last year.
I was never a huge fan of 1/8th mile stuff either until everything went that way. Now I have almost no idea what is fast in the 1/4 and don't even get me thinking about the 1000ft. crap the NHRA is doing :LOL . I think 1/8th mile is taking off because it is easier on parts for racers like us that actually have to watch a budget (nothing on the car is new except for the tires and the blower belt) and 1/8th mile allows these cars to be run at a lot more tracks.
You missed some damn good racing, there were two Lenmar cars there, the Mustang ran a 3.83 and the 57' Chevy ran a 3.80 at 202 MPH! totally destroying the track record for ET and MPH.
