The neg on the coils will give me an rpm signal? I have a t kill so i had to interrupt the positive on the coils, because they come to one wire farther down the harness.
coils go 1-4 starting on the left side if sitting on bike correct? Should I just slide some wire back and soldier my new wire to existing neg wire or is there a better way? thx man for all the help
Replied to your PM. And Jason is right, its the negative not positive. Its been a while. But I explained the relay process for you. I think Blankenship has a part number for a 4 prong.
I may be jumping into to the middle of this. If I am repeating
something that has already been said, sorry...
I have a similar set up on an 06 1000 gsxr. I can not say for sure
that the wires are color coded the same. But I can tell you what I
did.
I am using a Dyna Shift Minder connected to a relay to make my shifts.
I get my signal from the (tach output) I tied into the wire under the
seat. A couple inches from the (ECM).
On the 06 1000 gsxr it a yellow wire with a thin blue stripe.
Terminal # 37 on the wiring diagram.
I have the same set up on my Buell. There I had to tap into the coil wires.
No need to on the GSXR, Much neater and easier to get the signal off the tach out put.
