I was riding with a friend today side by side in the same lane, and we where wondering if that was illegal?

Im in NC if that has any relevance.

yeah he kept coming up next to me and i waved back at him to get in back of me cause it didnt really feel comfortable with no room to move. Thanks man!

when someone does that to me, I just get in the other lane and wave him to go on.

I know they have different standards, but I see police do it all the time. Just a few days ago as a matter of fact. They also did it at Fort Polk when I was there last year.

Better to ride staggered than side by side. At least that way it affords you more room to maneuver out of the way if need to.....it's better than swerving and smashing in the person you're stacked up right next to.

Legal here in michigan never thought much of it. I ride staggered with my friends I'm not much of a fan for side by side riding especially when there is plenty of road

ride staggered, with friends i ride in the back, becuase the friends dont have much experience, only thing they want to learn is how to wheelie... down mainstreet where its 20mph.. side by side is ok but i dont like to do it, leaves no room for manuevering
