Vacation and my diet. What should I do?

I'm going on vacation in March for about 8 days. I've really been concentrating on the gym and my diet for the last month and I don't plan to let up anytime soon. I eat 6 meals a day every three hours, 3 of which are protien shakes. I'm getting about 180 grams of protien per day and I weigh 175.

Heres my question. Since I'm not going to have access to a gym and probably won't be doing anything other than situps and pushups in my room should I continue to eat this much and take in that much protien? I plan on bringing a box of bars to substitute my shakes since I'll be on the go but I really don't want to fuck up what I'm working towards. Will all of that food and protien turn to fat if I'm not working out?

You can easily find decent things to eat while on vacation.By all means try and stay away from fried and greasy/salty foods. If anything, justcut back a liitle on overall food consumption.
Just remember that the alcohol does tend to flow freely when your having a good time,so try to avoid over doing it if your want to stary on track.

It's going to be hard...I'll be in Vegas for 3 of the days I'm gone.

I'm going to do my best though. Eating good foods won't be hard I just wanted to make sure I should stick with high protein.

The protein won't harm you if you continue to do your pushups and situps. You may even find that when you get back you are able to lift a little bit more than before you went away. Your muscles will have a chance to rebuild themselves and replenish themselves with the nutrients they need. It's always good to give yourself a small break every few months for your body to build itself back up. Stay away from carbs though...they do you no good while taking it easy.

Re: Vacation and my diet. What should I do?

You can eat your carbs, just eat them earlier in the day (maybe for your first two meals). That way it gives your body the rest of the day to burn them off, at least that's what works for me. If you've mean deiting and stuff for the last few months, is shouldn't be that hard to stick with it on vaca. I thought it was going to be hard for me to stick to mine, when my job sent me to Orlando Florida for two weeks from switch training (everyting on the company credit card). But it was easy, instead of going out everyday all day - I just went to the store got milk, turkey, wheat beard, etc.... And the whole two weeks I was down there I only went out 4 times, and when I went out I stayed to my deit.

I realized eating right had just become 2nd nature. And the company was happy too I didn't blow up my company credit card.

And the funny thing is I still used the Hotel gym everyday

Try to keep eating yer 6 meals...this will keep yer metabolism going...Keep yer protien above 150g, carbs above 150g, and fiberous carbs above 75g...per day...two days before you go back home...try bring everything back up to the way you were before you left...

Oh...BTW...some food for thought... getting piss drunk reduces protien synthesis for about 2 days(if I remember correctly)...

One thing not to do is obsess to much about it - if your on holiday remember that your their to enjoy yourself, not to obsess about your fitness program.

live a little without going stupid, pick up your training regime when you get back, thats my take on it anyway.
