I am in the market for buying a 5x8 enclosed trailer. I found one that has the fold down ramp for the rear door and is perfect for what I am wanting to use the trailer for (hauling bike to trackdays) along with other general uses around the house.
The only thing I question about the trailer is the tires.....it comes with 14" trailer rated bias ply tires and I was wondering some opinions on these tires. I will be hauling 2 bikes with other gear in the trailer and the drive for me is about 2.5hrs one way to the track. Im just not sure if these tires will hold up to the distance with that weight on it for a long time. I dont want to be replacing the tires all the time or worry about having flats on the interstate. So would the 14" tires be good enough?
The tires should have a max load rating on the sidewall. If your question is are 14" big enough diameter for on the road, yes they are. Wasn't too many years back most cars had 14" tires! This big tire stuff is really pretty new.
