2005 Honda CBR600RR Repsol Replica Edition

$6352.65 out the door
21k miles
Power Commander and Akro exhaust
Dropped on right side at stand still with minimal scratches
(pics)

Yes, this is Dream of Flight contemplating buying a 1000cc bike It will be my daily driver (not that I do much of it anymore...)
Sound like a good deal? It's much less than NADA prices it at. I can get a 12 month extended warranty for $499 but I don't think I will, or should I?

I can't get the k9 600 I wanted cuz I can't get approved for a $10000 loan. Tried my only co-signer, but his credit is worse than mine

Sounds expensive for that many miles + fairing damage...I don't know that I would buy a bike with 21k miles, but that's just me. Love the look of Repsol's though

NADA:

List price: $5495
Low retail: $5585
Average retail: $7345
Suggested retail

KBB:

Suggested Retail: $7720

I think the price is relativily fair. I will try to talk him down to $5000 even of course

First of all, 21k is a lot of miles considering you don't know how the bike was maintained. The previous owner could have beat the hell out of that thing, you don't know.

Secondly, KBB lists $7720 considering excellent condition: "This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition". That means it better have flawless OEM fairings, new tires, brakes, etc. Even still, I wouldn't pay that much. Low list price through NADA is more accurate but your OTD is way above that price.

I wouldn't pay more than $5k OTD for that bike but it sounds like your mind is already made up. You should sleep on it, wait for December and buy a bike from up north where the deals are better.

My mind isn't set on anything. My mind was set on a k9 600... But that's not going to happen. I just saw this and figured I'd jump on it if it was a good deal. I really want a GSXR. I do love the repsol bikes though...

I think you can find a better deal on a better bike. 21k miles with some damage. You're paying for the fancy replica paint job (that is somewhat scratched up).

Don't blame ya, those repsol's look beautiful. Don't be impulsive though, there are tons of Repsol's out there. Just my $.02's though, someone else might tell you it's a great deal.

I'll tell you that living in Wisconsin (and coming from Ohio) - I see 10x better deals than that all winter long.

There are guys on here buying brand new (well actually leftover 2008) CBR1000rr's for $6900 OTD. And you want to buy a crashed 4 year old 600 for $6300. And especially going into the fall and winter months when bike prices start dropping.

Go look elsewhere dude. Honda is having crazy deals right now trying to get bikes off the showrooms.

How much financing have you secured? Are you going through your bank or a dealership? You should avoid the dealership at all costs, they get points on your loan which in a roundabout way comes out of your pocket. If you get financed through your bank, you can get a better deal and you have more bargaining power.

I know you want a K9 but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to find a leftover K8 600 brand new for $6400 or less. They had K8 GSXR600's brand new here in Madison this summer for $6999 OTD so you should be able to find one somewhere.

Re: 2005 Honda CBR600RR Repsol Replica Edition

I've looked around but I haven't seen a deal like that anywhere on brand new bikes. There's a couple people on CL who have responded to my "WTB" post. couple R6's and a couple k7-k8 gixxers. One is completely stock, never been down and low miles for $5500. 07-08, cant remember which. I think that's a better deal, but I had to ask about the Repsol. Y'all know I like Hayden I wanted to paint my Hyo to look like his Duc test bike

That's another one that you could probably talk down some more but that 600 is a better deal. Still not a smokin' deal, but better. I like how he says "never been stunted" but then tries to include a stunt cage as one of the accessories...retarded.

Haha, i know. I thought the same thing.

To be truthful, I don't mind if a bike has popped a couple wheelies or brought the back end up for an endo or two. As long as you didn't crash it, you must have been doing it within the limits of the bike. I know I'm going to do it If you didn't drop the wheelie down too hard and bend the forks, the bike should be fine. You don't have to lie about it... I'll take Beaker with me if he's got the to go look at it

Agreed. I fight like hell to keep the front end down on my 1000, pick the wheel up a little every now and then won't hurt it. But when someone tries to include a stunt cage, all I can think: "Fork seals are cashed and clutch has been burned to shit because this poor bike has been 12 o'clocked for 8,000 miles".

I have to agree. I just emailed him to see if there was any wiggle room with the price. It looks like a clean bike. I'm not going to lie, I can't use a 600 to it's full potential and I know it, so looks are very important to me. I've always liked having a good looking unique vehicle and I'm no different with bikes. I want a good looking 600 for a low price. So if it's a clean, fairly new bike with lower miles for a good price, I'm jumping on it. No need to hide the fact that you popped a wheelie

Everytime I look at a gixxer on CL I think I'm going to end up getting a post from them on my "should I buy this bike" threads from the owner it would be funny...
