Re: Need to make my 98 GSXR 600 FASTER

Brolo had the best advice

But if you must........
Take that bolt on Yoshi.....throw it as far as you can.
Buy a full system (any brand) and a complete jet kit. But your ignition advancer up +4, plop in a KN and enjoy the 7% increase in power.

Anymore and your looking at $$$$$ (might want to take Brolo's tips).

I own a SRAD 600 like yours (race bike)
and 02 750...........night and day diffy.

Re: Need to make my 98 GSXR 600 FASTER

Ya, what wera said. Except after u do all that, take it to a dyno and get it tuned perfect.

Also, change your gearing.

After that its engine work.

And ya a 2k2 750 will def give u more power.

Re: Need to make my 98 GSXR 600 FASTER

You could always regear the bike to a more desirable ratio. If your looking for take off speed and a few teeth in the rear or drop 1 in the front and if your looking for top end speed drop a few teeth in the rear or add 1 in the front.

Look into a full exhaust with jet kit and k&n like said before.

if your into it you could always do a sleeper and drop a 750 engine into it.

Do this it's the cheapest too. get a 750 Crank and push rods and make that 600cc into a 619cc and give torque and that much more HP at the rear wheel. you can get the bike up to 106hp at the rear wheel with a full system and the timing advancer too.

Good luck

Though that sounds harsh b/c Spooner is a dick (love ya Spork), there's a lot of truth to that. I've got a stock '99 600, and I smoke guys left and right.

But if you'd rather just make the bike faster, the ideas already mentioned are pretty good.

Yea I agree....

And since I am sure that he ment to use the 750 crank and RODs, YOU CAN NOT DO THAT. The wrist pin on the pistons are different sizes. You would need to have a custom made piston.

LOL... WERA. That'll definately make the bike real fast. I wouldn't suggest doing WERA's last idea then trying a 12 o'clock or stand up tho....

Re: Need to make my 98 GSXR 600 FASTER

sorry about that your right. My mistake it's not push rods .But
this can be done with easy. Did it to mine and many other people I know have done it too.

So yes it's nice to try and dis someone on needing engine lessons. But I don't need them Thanks seeing that gsxr Freak thinks that you have to get custom pistions made. And I know you Know your shit there Gsxr Freak but on this topic your dead wrong.

Re: Need to make my 98 GSXR 600 FASTER

Please explain to me how you put a 750 crank and rods into a 600 piston... I have a 600 crank sitting in my garage right now, and the rod jurnals are a lot smaller then that of the 750, and the wrist pin on the 600 rod is a lot smaller then that of a 750. So if you found a way to make it work, please let me know.

BTW, I am not the only motor build on here that has said the same thing. Shall I do a search for the post that it was talked about in?

I am not trying to be rude, but more joke around with you. But the fact is, it would not work like you are saying it does. Not with stock parts anyhow.

Re: Need to make my 98 GSXR 600 FASTER

Ok so since I dont know what I am talking about, and you have done this (it really kinda pisses me off when people try to correct me without the data to back it up, and when I have done the research to back it up).

Anyhow, here are the specs from the parts in the garage taken about 1 min ago.

.............................750cc.............600 cc
Crank Jurn............34mm.............34mm
Rod Jurn...............34mm.............32mm
Wrist Pin...............15.95mm........14.95mm

So as you can see, There is no way that you can put a 600 piston onto a 750 rod and you can not put a 600 rod onto a 750 crank.

Please explain how you did this since you have found a way to MAKE it fit without custom work done.

IT IS NOT A DIRECT BOLT UP MOD, NO WAY NO HOW!!!!

Sorry facts are fact.
